The child experiences the seasons directly. Spring, summer, autumn and winter in their different qualities

It experiences the joy of the first ray of sunshine after thick fog, the dark clouds in the sky and the onset of downpour, the rustling of leaves in autumn or the frozen puddle in winter.

Why is spring colourful, fragrant, noisy and full of movement, while winter is quiet, rigid and lacking in colors and smells?

Where are the birds, insects and other animals in winter? Who are the footprints in the snow?

Why does the stream change after a downpour? Who ate the leaf? Where does the ant trail lead to?

Children often notice the smallest changes and ask questions;

Sometimes weeks after watching the process.

The five senses of man

Nature offers sensory stimuli in a variety of ways, each floor has a different surface. Musty wood smells different than freshly cut wood. The moss on the forest floor is soft. How good the hot tea and bread taste outside in the forest.

In addition, the children in the forest kindergarten have the opportunity to become acquainted with animals and plants.

Children learn differently than adults. They have to see, touch and experience before they can absorb explanations. Too early explanations disturb the observation experience.

It is not important to know as many tree, shrub or bird names as possible. It is much more important to encourage the children to observe and ask questions.
